Someone once asked me, “Other frames can transfer a photo with just an NFC tap. It looks so convenient! Why does InkJoy Frame need a persistent Wi-Fi connection and Wi-Fi setup?”
That’s true if you only watch a demo. NFC or Bluetooth can seem more convenient: tap once to connect and transfer. But if you think about how you will actually use InkJoy Frame after bringing it home, the picture changes.
Scenario 1: Sending One Photo — A Wi-Fi Frame Is More Convenient
Even if you only want to send one photo to the frame, Wi-Fi is more convenient.
Tap-to-transfer usually takes four steps:
- Open the app
- Choose a photo
- Tap “Send to Frame”
- Walk over to the frame and tap it with your phone (but what if the frame is mounted too high?), then wait for the transfer to finish
Once InkJoy Frame has been set up, it only takes three:
- Open the app
- Choose a photo
- Tap “Send to Frame”
Scenario 2: More Than One Frame at Home — A Wi-Fi Frame Is More Convenient
If you have several InkJoy Frames—one customer ordered 17 at once!—you might put one in the living room, another in the bedroom, and one more in the study. Do you really want to walk around and tap every frame whenever you change a photo?
With a persistent Wi-Fi connection, simply choose the photo and destination frame in the app or Web Studio, then tap Send. Wherever the frames are, there is no need to visit them one by one.
Scenario 3: Sending Photos to a Frame Far Away — Something Perhaps Only a Wi-Fi Frame Can Do
This is one of my favorite features! Whenever I travel for work, I take photos of interesting things and send them to the frame at home. Then I message my wife on WeChat: “Look at the wall!”
Only a frame like InkJoy Frame that stays connected to Wi-Fi can make this kind of instant remote sharing possible.
Scenario 4: The Frame Updates on Its Own — Something Perhaps Only a Wi-Fi Frame Can Do
InkJoy Frame can switch its displayed content automatically on a schedule. As it connects with more Mini Apps in the future, new content can also be pushed to the frame automatically.
None of this requires someone to stand beside the frame or tap it with a phone. By staying connected, the frame can receive new content whenever it arrives.
That is why InkJoy Frame stays connected to Wi-Fi. Set it up once, and from then on, changing photos, managing multiple frames, and sharing with family far away can all happen naturally. It no longer needs your attention each time; it quietly becomes part of everyday life.
